From Marengo it takes just a couple of minutes to arrive at Bosco Marengo, Pope Pious V's birthplace. He wanted very strongly the construction of Santa Croce complex,which shows some famous paintings of Vasari.The wooden chorus of the sixteenth century is alo of great interest The house where Pious V was born can also be visited.

Moving to the East,leaving Tortona behind through the beautiful Val Curone, we arrive at Volpedo, where there are both the house and the working room of the well-known painter Pellizza da Volpedo,whose masterpiece was " Il Quarto Stato ".

Between Tortona and Novi Ligure we move through the areas where Fausto Coppi ,the famous biker,was born and Castellania,in particular features an exibition dedicated to him which takes place every year.

WINE FOOD AND BIKE : The route of the three rivers .

This is a circular route in the territory of the Comunità Montana " Alta Valle Erro ,Orba and Bormida " practicable in two or three days on mountain bike ,across the most suggestive areas of the Apennines in Piedmont and Liguria ,unravelling between gullies and Chestnut and Oak woods.
It is aimed at well trained cyclist equipped with a good technique and to lovers of equestrian tourism. It takes place mostly on unmetalled roads which vary from simple paths to the more accessible.
